Medal of Honor, released in 2010, was set in the context of the Afghanistan War. Officials in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada criticized the game studio for allowing players in multiplayer mode to choose to play as the Taliban. After the game’s release, the studio gave the Taliban faction a more generic name, Opposing Force.
