Corporal Gordon Bennett painted the “2 for Hooking” design and slogan on a Chinook helicopter that was used by Canada to ferry troops and supplies across Afghanistan. The reference is a link not only to hockey but also to the helicopter’s ability to lift equipment using two hooks located on its underside.

In May 2011, Captain Alexia Shore flew “2 for Hooking” to drop sniper teams into Panjwaii, Kandahar. Upon landing, the helicopter sank into fine dust, rolled and crashed. The crew and passengers escaped with minor injuries.
