This ceremonial flag covered the coffin of Flying Officer William Joseph Kyle. He was a Royal Canadian Air Force officer who crashed over Burma (present-day Myanmar) in 1945. His remains, and those of his comrades, were only recovered and formally buried in 1996 in a single burial plot at Taukkyan War Cemetery.
