Wing Commander Hubert Brooks was captured over Germany in 1942 and made a prisoner-of-war. He escaped in 1943 and served with the Polish resistance until the end of the war. After the war, he was a member of the RCAF Flyers hockey team that won Olympic Gold in 1948.
